The Luxe Pieces Worth Investing In for Fall
Is it just me or do you girls feel a tiny bit of fall in the air?! As much as I love summer, once LDW passes I can’t help but get excited about transitioning into my fall wardrobe. This season, I’m investing in a few new pieces for my fall wardrobe that I think are well worth the splurge including chunky knits, leather pants and skirts, oversized cardigans, tall boots, and more! Today on the blog I’m sharing the core luxe pieces I’m loving for fall that are essential, on trend and will make countless outfits in your wardrobe.
Hot Tip: Invest in a few key pieces you love each season and pair them with affordable options! I love to mix and match designer items with my less expensive pieces to round out my looks. That way I can introduce new high street pieces to my wardrobe regularly to compliment my investment items that last forever!
Also, one thing to keep in mind when looking to pull the trigger on an investment item is “The Rule of Cost Per Wear”! I like to envision how I would style an investment piece at least 5-10 ways. If it passes that test then it’s an item worth investing in! A perfect example for me are leather pants; it hurts to make that kind of purchase but I literally wear leather pants SO many ways that it’s totally worth it!
The Neutral Blazer
You already know how much I love a good blazer! This season I’m sticking to neutral colors and cuts to build a capsule fall collection where I can virtually pair everything together! Blazers are a staple in my wardrobe…here’s a few I’m loving that you can pair with anything neutral-toned in your wardrobe.
Tall Boots For Fall
It’s officially boots season and I couldn’t be happier! There’s something so elegant and a bit ‘bad-assy” about finishing up your look with a tall pair of boots. Sticking with the neutral color scheme all the way down to my shoes, here are the investment boots I’m eyeing this season. Closet Essential are thigh high boots and a tall boot! Those are the styles I’d recommend for endless options.
Winter White Bags
Major trend this year has been the '“white bag” and I am here for it! This fall, I’m treating myself to a winter white handbag to wear throughout fall and winter. I know it can be a scary purchase due to the maintenance but believe it or not all the white bags I own look great! They’re more durable then we think and just look so luxe! White + off-white handbags will be sochic all year round but especially during colder months against black, camel, rust, and cream-colored coats and sweaters!
Cozy Oversized Cardigans and Chunky Knits
Another hot trend this year i the return of the cardigan! Specifically cropped oversized cardigan, long collegiate inspired! They’re easy to style and feel modern and unexpected. Style them for comfort for around the house, and equally as fun to dress up a low-cut knit and lacey bralette for a date night with the hubby.
Leather Skirts And Pants
If you know me you know that leather is a big part of my fall/winter wardrobe! It elevates any outfit and feel sophisticated, modern and luxe. Try working in leather skirts and pants (or even shorts) into your wardrobe to mix with your blazers and luxe sweaters! Wear with heels, booties or sneakers and instantly feel great! A little style inspo, try your leather paired with camel or cream sweater, and your favorite handbag. Or for a more casual look, pair a graphic tee with leather pants and sneakers for a cold-weather approved look.
Oversized Designer Sweatshirts
Sweatshirts have officially crossed over from athletic wear to anytime wear! I’ve loved styling my sweatshirts with leather pants, jeans and heels and even with my leopard skirts! I love an interesting twist to my sweatshirts and this year I want to invest in a designer one. These designer sweatshirts are a great investment piece to add to your wardrobe. Because they’re a bit more elevated than your average hoodie, you won’t feel drab at all while wearing these with denim, leather leggings, or even activewear.
Statement Leopard Skirts And Dresses
In my opinion, leopard print will never go out of style and is in fact a neutral print! It will pair with almost any color combo and can so easily be dressed up or down! My suggestion would be to invest in a leopard maxi dress/skirt this season. You can style it with a sweatshirt and sneakers, a graphic tee and jeans jacket. Try it with a luxe sweater and heeled booties. So many options!
