Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! We had a little too much fun and feel like I need and extra day of rest for sure! But se la vie...

What can I tell you about this outfit?? Pretty consistent with my go to's. Distressed denim, a structured blazer and some great heels to pull it all together! All these pieces can be worn separately in so many ways and individually have something special and unique. But let me talk to you about blazers specifically. You can't go wrong with a great blazer and you'll get your moneys worth easily. I've had this one since my days of working a corporate job and now that I don't work a traditional job I still wear it often. My favorite way is with jeans! Surprise huh?! ;) Keeps things casual, not too fussy but adds a level of sophistication to any outfit. I'm also fairly conservative when it comes to showing too much skin so a great blazer allows me to wear tops that I probably wouldn't wear on their own. Camisoles, crop tops and such.

A few things to keep in mind when looking for a great timeless blazer...

-Make sure you get a good fit in the shoulders and back otherwise you'll look and feel uncomfortable.

-Look for quality in materials and tailoring. You don't want to wear something twice and it fall apart.

-As I mentioned earlier I think it's also important to find something unique that makes a blazer special. Leather or satin details. This BCBG Blazer is lined in a great white and black pinstripe that looks great peeking out. Unique cuts like tuxedo styles, draped lapels or slightly angled cuts like this one will also make your look stand out. This one is actually cut a bit higher in the back and angles down to points in the front to give a slimming illusion.

-Lastly consider length. I prefer something that hits at my mid hip. I'm not very tall so if things are too long they can tend to add bulk to my figure. And if it hits too high I'm all curves! So be aware of what works best with your figure.
