Resort Wear: Casual vs. Chic

There’s something about resort wear that gets me thinking of tropical vacations and ocean views. Who else likes to daydream about their next getaway? Serg and I love to plan trips, but we also love spending time outside on our patio, which we can do year-round (one of the many benefits of living in San Diego)! So, today I’m sharing two resort wear looks that can take you to the pool or beach, your backyard, a yacht (dreaming here!) or the hotel grounds of your next vacay.

Casual Resort Wear

If you’re more into casual looks, then you can’t go wrong with a pair of cutoffs and a cover-up. This outfit is still chic (imo) but a little dressed down for that ‘I didn’t try too hard’ look. It can easily take you to the resort pool, or your backyard on a summer Friday. I absolutely love the light wash of these Long Parker cutoffs (who saw my try on?) - plus they’re super affordable (win, win)? I paired them with these sandals which I’ve raved about, and this Lack of Color hat that always sells out! When it comes to resort wear, accessories help to tie the whole look together… including this Saint Laurent bag where you can pack your sunscreen, sunglasses, and hot weather necessities. I also like this bag which is much more affordable and gives you the same look and feel.

Chic Resort Wear

For my girls who like to take things up a notch (yes, still envisioning that yacht) or just want a dressier look, I think this one-piece just screams chic! It comes with a gold chain belt (it’s all in the details) that I just adore. Here’s a similar one here and here that give the same vibe. I styled it with a cover up sheer skirt (how good is this one?) and a wide brim hat. Layer on the jewelry (always!) with a bracelet like this and this for the ultimate chic resort look.
