Palm Springs Guide

If you’re thinking of escaping the May Gray/ June Gloom, there's no better escape than a short trip to Palm Springs especially for us SoCal residents!  It’s just a quick 2 hr drive and great for anything from a girls, family trip or romantic getaway, you pick! If you follow me on IG then you saw that my girls and I escaped a few weeks ago for some girl time so I thought I’d share our itinerary and a few more favorites for your future planning!  I’ll be honest; going in the May-August months is not for the faint, it’s HOT!  But we love it; it means endless poolside days (ie forced relaxation) & quiet dinners during what is technically the off season. Join me as I share my PS favorites from where to shop, where to stay and eat and of course what to wear.

This trip we stayed at the luxe Hermann Bungalows, our first time!  This place is STUNNING!  Private, insane mountain views, mid century design that is ultra luxe, great location right downtown, the perfect place to unwind and soak up the desert. A few honest call outs; we 💯 paid for our rooms. They were kind enough to give us an upgrade upon check in, but again this was not a collab. Anyway, it’s a new location and I think they’re still working things out and maybe in soft opening mode because they where understaffed and that was a bit frustrating at times. Maybe because we are going into off season but at the $$$$ price tag that was a miss for me. I’d still like to come back with Serg, but I want you to be prepared.

A Few Other Places I Love to Stay

The Colony Palms, love their restaurant, The Parker is great with kids and such a classic iconic spot, La Serena Villas is adults only and perfect for a romantic getaway.

And if Airbandb is more your vibe then i highly recommend my girlfriend Andee’s beautiful home! We are actually staying there for an end of the school year getaway in a few weeks! Check it out here!

Things To Do In Palm Springs

Palms Springs is known for golfing and antiquing, but there’s tons of other fun things to do with or without kids!  This trip we decided to do a little shopping in the heart of Palm Springs because as it turns out they have one of the best selections of high end shopping; insider secret theres a new Bottega store and it is stocked with EVERY hard to find bag! This one has been on my wishlist, finally found it! Another new find was House of LoLo, a hidden gem in the desert where you can find amazing modern home furniture and decor as well a few doors down there’s also a LOLO Boutique decimated to fashion! They carry Anine Bing, Agolde a seriously well curated store. Other places not to miss Saks!

More To Do:

Aerial Tramway, we did this with the kids and it’s super cool!  Literally the temperature goes from bikini to parkas by the time you get to the top. Make sure you wear layers and hike to the restaurant for the insane views.

Palm Springs Art Museum: I was actually pleasantly surprised and impressed with the collection of art. It’s a great way to escape the heat and they have a cute outdoor garden restaurant for a glass of rose.

Modernist Tour; the architecture is one of the most impressive things about Palm Springs. You can either book a tour, wake up early grab bikes from your hotel, or just park your car and walk around the beautifully designed homes. Side note; Bye Bye Baby was filmed in the neighborhood right across Herman Bungalows. It’s pretty cool!

Cabazon Dinosaurs: another fun family activity!

On My List

We’ve never been to The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Gardens, but I’ve heard it’s super impressive!

Hike Tahquitz Canyon; I have a gf who does this hike every trip!  It’s supposed to be gorgeous and has a waterfall you can swim in!

Where to Eat in Palm Springs

We stayed pretty low key this trip, one night we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, SO•PA! It was great but keep in mind the entire hotel including restaurant is adults only.

The next night we visited Mr. Lyons, loved the swanky steakhouse vibe of this place.  Get the espresso Martini, they do a good one!

More Favorite RESTAURANTS

Workshop Kitchen is our go to every visit; I can always count on great food and a modern vibe.

Mister Parker’s: This is my top choice for steakhouses in the desert; such a vibe and you’ll always spot a celebrity. 😉

Counter Reformation: also at the Parker is my favorite for tapas and cocktails.

What To Wear

The desert calls for bright colors and light fabrics. I alway pack a couple of Kaftans, matching sets and of course tons of swimsuits! Also of you’re going out dancing make sure to bring a fun night out outfit I packed this bustier and cargo trousers

Don’t forget to pack a workout outfit for a morning hike or bike ride!
