My NYC Trip Recap

In case you missed it, I just got back from NY and had such an amazing trip! The reason for my visit was primarily to celebrate the launch of my girlfriend Amy's debut brand launch Mayson The Label! She has been working so hard for the last year and my gosh was it impressive! While I was there, Serg decided to visit since we didn’t get a chance to celebrate our anniversary this year, so we really made the most of my trip. We packed in shopping, sightseeing, eating… all the things! So, I figured I’d share a recap of my trip in case you girls want to know where to do the best shopping and get the best caviar, cocktails and more!

Amy (of Fashion Jackson) hosted a beautiful dinner and event. Here are a few snaps of the night and a sneak peek at her collection. Prepare to see me style the items often. Think elevated pieces that will go from office to a night out, luxe fabrics and incredible attention to detail!

As I mentioned, I did a little retail therapy so keep scrolling for what I bought, where to stay, eat and shop…

WHAT I BOUGHT

WHERE TO STAY

We stayed at the NED Nomad which is a SOHO hotel so if you’re a member you get a discount on rates and also get access to their rooftop private bar. We LOVED this hotel; the rooms are super spacious for NY and they were kind enough to upgrade us to an even bigger room! You get passes to their 3 private bars/jazz club with your stay and it is such a scene at night.

OTHER FAVORITE HOTELS:

11 Howard
The Mercer
New York Edition
Fouquete’s

WHERE TO EAT

There are SO many amazing restaurants in NY that I couldn't' even possibly make a dent but here are some favorites that you'll love with lots of variety.

Caviar Kaspia - We squeezed this in for your last day lunch and it was totally worth it! Service was so down to earth especially considering it’s a fancy kind of spot. It was really quiet for lunch so if you want more people watching and a lively crowd then go for dinner.

The Polo Bar - This is a MUST! Make your reservation way in advance; like today for a winter trip lol. BUT you can call in for a cancellation or be added to the waitlist.

Cipriani - Another NY must! Amazing Italian food and you'll always spot a celeb or two.

La Mercerie - One of my favorite meals and in a favorite neighborhood! Get the halibut it was insane! And you can also do some home goods shopping.

Balthazar - This is an NY institution in the heart of Soho, we are basically regulars and don't miss a meal there on EVERY trip. It’s the perfect spot to go to mid shopping day! I love the seafood tower, the trout, Balthazar salad and a martini!

Ey-Val - This one is a treck but it was probably one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had! It's more casual, full of hipsters and DELICIOUS! It was my first time having Persian food and it was incredible, think a mix of Greek/Mediterranean. If you’re headed to Brooklyn it’s a must and don't get stressed about the neighborhood, it was very safe and just the vibe of the cool kids!

Carbone - SO good for dinner but be sure to make a reservation far in advance - it's a hard one to get into!

MORE LUNCH FAVORITES:

Jack’s Wife Freda - Casual eatery but so tasty!
Sadelle’s
Coffee: I'm a La Colombe die hard!

WHERE TO SHOP

Of course NY is one of the best cities to shop at because they have EVERYTHING! It's a great chance for me to check out and in person try on some brands that I can normally only get online. I love shopping SOHO, its charming, every hip store is there and very walkable. Anine Bing, Khaite, COS, Acne Studios, Frankie Shop, Toteme, The Real Real are just a few favorites...

I love a trip to Bergdorfs and Saks because both are just so iconic and don’t miss the window displays, especially around holiday time!

If your looking for vintage shopping, What Goes Around Comes Around is amazing, lots of Chanel!

If you want a more upscale luxury head up to 5th Avenue or Hudson Yards! Both worth a visit at least once.
