Denim Trends to Say Goodbye to in 2024

I recently got asked on Instagram what jean trends will most likely be out of style in 2024. While I always prefer to invest in timeless pieces, except for the occasional accessory, etc. I prefer to re-wear high quality items like denim year after year. With different styling techniques jewelry, and accessories, you can easily update these pieces season to season, so you really get the most wear out of your closet. So, you girls asked for it… here are the denim trends to say goodbye to in 2024. ALL this to also say; wear what makes you feel good! There is no fashion rules that aren’t meant to be broken!

Are Skinny Jeans Out?

I feel like skinny jeans have been fading out for a while now (sorry Millennials!). Gen Z is certainly leading the trends these days and they want nothing to do with skinny jeans. Now if baggy jeans that the kids are wearing is not your vibe (I totally get it) I would invest more in straight leg and even 90’s cuts. The one place I would still include skinny jeans is when styling with knee-boots. However, I would still AVOID the legging/jegging style altogether. I would also add if you are going to do a skinny jean, try a high rise with slight crop. This will create long lines and still give you the option of wearing with knee boots/sneakers.

do you feel ripped jeans will be in for 2024?

I think ripped jeans have had their time, the trend is leaning more towards the distressed or clean washes. Think slightly chewed hems, work in vintage Levi’s vibes. Ripped knees not so much anymore. The one exception for ripped jeans is in the summer/resort then rips feels effortless and breezy. We’re definitely seeing more tailored styles that are more elegant and timeless.

WHAT DENIM TRENDS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO STYLING MOST IN 2024?

With trends being more tailored, menswear inspired and fluid, I’m looking forward to styling my looser fit jeans and my high rise 90’s with a kick flare like my Nili Lotans. Think effortlessly cool, not trying too hard vibes. I’m also loving the cuffed hems and trouser style jeans. I’m also seeing more colored denim like ecru, dark washed and clean black that I’m really into right now. One tip I recommend if you want to try out the baggier styles is sizing up one or two sizes. You’ll get the same look and feel without having to shop at Urban Outfitters.

Barrel jeans and cool contrast waist jeans are also trend i plan on continuing to style this winter/spring. Its a great way to make a statement.
