4 Ways to Style a Satin Dress

You girls probably know by now that I’m not a huge dress gal - so, if I’m going to wear a dress then I have to make it my own! However, I love a satin moment and think satin dresses are so fun and can easily be dressed up or down. Whether it’s adding a leather jacket or throwing a cardigan over the top, today I’m sharing four ways to style a satin dress.

1. With A Sweater

One of the easiest ways to style a satin dress is with a sweater over the top. I love styling a dress this way because it makes it look like a skirt and is an easy way to dress it down. It’s also super flattering - because let’s be honest, satin can be a difficult fabric to wear. Pair it with some over-the-knee boots for some extra warmth in the winter.

2. Belt It

When in doubt, add a belt! I’m a huge fan of belts and think they’re such a great way to not only cinch in the waist, but it adds a bit of interest to your outfit as well. You could belt it on its own or with a cardigan, blazer or oversized button-down.

3. With A Leather Jacket

I’m forever a fan of leather - in fact, I wrote an entire blog about why you need a leather jacket here - and I think it pairs perfectly with a more feminine fabric like satin. You could pair it with some heels or dress it down with some sneakers or boots.

4. With A Cardigan

For all my WFH ladies, this is the most comfortable way to style a satin dress. Just throw a long cardigan or duster over it and you have a cute but cozy chic look for home. Don’t get me wrong though, you could totally wear this to school drop-offs, to run errands or to grab your morning coffee.
