Gingham has been all the rage this summer! I've held back on styling this trend until I found something that really spoke to me. Enter this amazing ruffled bustier style top! I instantly fell in love with the color and the intricate design. Apparently I am a ruffles girl after all, ha! The bold green color is so summery and I love it paired with clean blue denim and would look amazing with white jeans or how about black leather!? Yes!
Gingham is tough because it is a busy fabric. It can definitely look bulky or busy so I chose an option with bare shoulders and a figure hugging design to make sure to keep the look slim. I mean imagine this print in long sleeves, yikes! Too much!
Lucy's Tip: It's all about balance when styling bold prints and bold colors. Make sure to not overwhelm your body by grounding the look with something more simple i.e denim. If you are petite or fuller figured think about finding a printed style that has bare shoulders, shot sleeves or a plunging neckline to ensure balance.
Ok, now I need to talk about this denim that I am literally nuts over! You guys know I am a denim devotee and always on the hunt for new brands and unique styles. These jeans are a freaking dream! Let's start with the chewed hems on the back heels, how genius right?! For one they make any shoe look killer and for two, they make your legs looks so long! Now here's the other thing that made me fall in lust with these, the fading is strategical lighter down the middle of the legs and shadowed darker on the inside hemming. This creates a slimming effect for the legs and seriously took 5 inches off my thighs! Who doesn't love that!? Ha! Why every brands doesn't do this I don't know! I went down one size to a 25 and they are perfect! Shop them here and in limited sizes on SALE here!
