4 Beach-Approved Hairstyles

You ladies seem to love when I share my hair tips and how I style my hair, and with summer right around the corner, I figured I’d share some of my favorite beach-approved hairstyles. If you aren’t planning on hitting the beach anytime soon, these styles are also perfect for dirty hair which is great for prolonging your locks in between washes. I’m definitely more of a messy ‘I didn’t try too hard’ kind of a gal, so if you’re into the more tousled look, then you’re going to love these beach-approved hairstyles!

Hairstyle 1: Top Knot - If you’ve been around for a while, then you know I’m a huge fan of the top knot - especially for shorter hair (although I think it looks great with longer hair too)! I sport the top knot at least once a week, and I think it makes for a great beach hairstyle because of its effortless vibe. I shared a reel here showing you how I style my top knot.

Hairstyle 2: Messy Pony - This one might seem obvious, but when I say messy… I mean meeesssyyy! I’m definitely not much of a slicked back pony fan, so the more messy mine is, the better! I think this style looks best with dirty hair - I like to add dry shampoo and texturing spray (this is my favorite volumizing spray) to really give it volume. You could even tease it for that extra messy look.

Hairstyle 3: Head Scarf - I love a chic head scarf - I think it just gives you that ‘I’m vacationing in the South of France’ kind of a look. My favorite way to wear a head scarf is tied up at the top with a messy bun. I also think scarfs look cute with the ends hanging down at the bottom.

Hairstyle 4: High Bun - No ballerina buns for me! Again, the messier the better because it looks more effortless like you didn’t even try. If you’re at the beach or laying by the pool, you don’t want to have to worry about your hair getting all out of place, so a messier look is the way to go! I start with a traditional bun and pull pieces out until I like how it looks. You could also pin pieces in place to make sure your bun is secure.
