Velvet is everywhere right now and I am completely on board! From boots, dresses, skirts and blazers; and I love it all! I like including velvet in my outfits in small touches NOT head to toe! That can be a bit overwhelming and this luxurious fabric on it's own makes a statement. You don't want to over do it and end up looking like a throwback from Studio 54! Less is more.
Here I topped off a basic grey tank and wide cuffed jeans with a velvet blazer and I think it's just the right amount of luxe to elevate the outfit don't you think? I wanted the look to feel more causal and dance between daytime casual and maybe an easy dinner outfit so I decided to wear boots instead of heels. I also wanted to add a little holiday sparkle cuz hey it's the holidays; so decided to wear this beautiful piece from Daniela Bustos Maya. How gorgeous is this bib necklace handmade of ancient Mexican coins and intricate crochet ?! You can find more details on her beautiful work here.
